RS PRO DIN Rail Mount 5 Port Compact Ethernet Switch

A reliable and efficient industrial compact Ethernet 5 Port unmanaged switch with galvanically isolated ethernet ports capable of 10/100 Mbps. Ethernet switches, also known as LAN (local area network) switches, are an integral part of any computer network interface.
The ethernet switches industrial temperature range is from -40°C to +80°C and the dual input redundant power supply with wide voltage range means it can be powered from a USB or by 24V power supply. The power terminal is removable with numbered pins for easy wiring. No software is required, you just plug in and connect.

Typical Applications:

Industrial hubs are the devices used to connect several Ethernet devices together at one time. They then function as a single network together. They can be used in the following areas:
Automation industries
Energy industries
Machinery & robotics industries
Transportation industries
These RS PRO unmanaged Ethernet switches are suitable for factory floors, vehicle and marine applications.

The black numbered power terminal block is removable. Two separate sets of power supply inputs terminals are provided, one to +VA and -V and the other to +VB and -V. This provides redundancy; the second power supply automatically takes over in the event of a failure of the first one. If only one power supply is connected then the negative must be connected to one of the -V pairs. The positive can be connected to either the +VA or +VB pins. Power LED will light green when correctly connected.

FAQs

What is the difference between managed and unmanaged switches.

Unmanaged switches let you immediately plug and play devises into your network and cannot be modified or managed. They are usually used in home networks and small businesses.

Managed switches allow for greater control and ideal for larger businesses with a large and growing network.

How many ports do I need on my switch?

Switches can have a different number of port configurations. To help choose the right number of ports you should consider the number of users your network supports. In general, the bigger your business and organisation is, the more ports you will require.
