Siemens Soft Starter, 400V AC, 160kW - 3RW40 Series - 3RW4074-6BB44

This high-performance soft starter from Siemens is designed to safely ramp up and ramp down high-power asynchronous electric motors. It features an integrated contact bridging system and thyristors that control the voltage and current supply to the motor, protecting it from damage due to overcurrent. This also minimises heat buildup for improved performance. The soft starter delivers 160kW of electrical power to connected motors, meaning it's suitable for heavy-duty industrial applications. It's also energy-efficient as it uses just 280A of current to control large loads. You'll find it commonly used in manufacturing facilities to control three-phase conveyor motors.

• Compact dimensions of 278 (length) x 160 (width) x 230mm (depth) for space efficiency
• External reset control to allow for convenient remote fault clearing
• Wide operating temperature range of -25°C to +60°C for use in demanding conditions
• Screw termination method for simple and quick installation

Why should I use a soft starter?

A soft starter like this one reduces the amount of energy your motor needs to start. It also reduces the risk of overheating, helping to extend the lifespan of vital equipment.
