CM-IWS - Insulation Monitoring Relays

CM-IWS series relays serve to monitor insulation resistance and can be configured to the requirements of the applications. All devices have two different terminal versions: Screw Connection Technology and Easy Connect Technology.

Rated control supply voltage 24-240V ac/dc
The device can monitor control circuits (single-phase) and main circuits (3-phase)
One measuring range 1-100 kΩ
Precise adjustment of the threshold value in 1kΩ steps
Interrupted wire detection
3 LEDs indicators of operational states
1 c/o (SPDT) contact, closed-circuit principle

ABB Insulation Monitoring Relay, 250V AC / 300V DC Maximum Voltage Sensed - 1SVR730660R0100 CM-IWS.1S

Check insulation resistance in your circuits with this insulation monitoring relay from ABB. It detects faults and quickly trips in the event of an electrical hazard to protect your machinery against damage. For ease of use, it features three LED indicators that let you know its operating status at a glance. The unit monitors systems with voltages of up to 250V AC or 300V DC, making it suitable for use in heavy-duty applications.

Features & Benefits

• Screw terminals make a secure connection
• Compact dimensions of 103.7 (length) x 22.5 (width) x 85.6mm (height) to fit into tight spaces
• Light weight of 0.148kg to minimise strain on your equipment

Applications

• Construction industry
• Solar power equipment
• Marine industry
• IT systems

Do I need an insulation monitoring relay if I already use an MCB or RCD?

If a system doesn't have ground-fault protection, you need an insulation monitoring relay to protect it from electrical malfunctions. An earth fault that occurs in such a system won't release enough energy to trigger an MCB (mini circuit breaker) or RCD (residual current device).
