The product is designed to monitor the status of the externally wired contacts and operate/alternate the output relays in turn on each closure of the contact. A “help” function is included such that it allows the second relay to energize (after a short delay) when the other contact is closed. An auxiliary supply (required to power the unit) must be present for the product to function.
