Eaton Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCBs) - FAZ Series
The FAZ series of miniature circuit breakers (MCBs) from Eatons xEffect range has a current limiting design providing fast short-circuit interruption that reduces the let-through electrical energy and overload currents that can damage the circuit.
Ideally suited to control circuits and electrical distribution boards the FAZ series of MCBs offer a wide range of diverse protection characteristics, protecting your electrical equipment against overload damage. For additional safety, the MCB breaker cannot be defeated by holding the handle in the ON position, these MCBs are also finger proof and have a trip-free mechanism.
These MCBs have both a thermal and electromagnetic release, with rated currents of 0.16 A up to 63 A and a switching capacity of 15kA or 10kA depending on the device type.
The FAZ series includes miniature circuit breakers, interlocks, busbars and snap-on accessories including auxiliaries and tripping modules.

Features and Benefits
Thermal-magnetic overcurrent protection
Power to the miniature circuit breakers can be fed from the line or load side
Clear indication of contact position via front switch toggle
Easy installation on DIN rail. MCB module width of only 17.5 mm (per pole)
Six levels of short-circuit protection, categorized by Type B, C, D, K, S and Z curves
Small modular width of the device and accessories saves space in the panel or equipment, which can lead to cost savings
Available in single pole up to 4 pole
Dual rating for IEC 60947-2 standard
MCB Module widths: 1P 17.5mm, 2P 35mm and 3P 52.5mm

Eaton xEffect MCB Mini Circuit Breaker, 240V, 2A - FAZ Series - 278523 FAZ-B2/1
Protect your equipment from overload with this mini circuit breaker (MCB) from Eaton. As a Type-B component, it's designed to trip when the supply current is three to five times its rated current. This makes it suitable for standard circuit protection. The MCB's toggle-switch reset actuator means it's easy to see when it trips, so you can reset your circuit more quickly. For additional safety, this switch stays in the off position until the fault is cleared. Devices like this are used in industrial environments to protect equipment such as generators and switchgears.
Features & Benefits
• Quick and easy DIN rail mounting eliminates the need for specialist tools
• Rated breaking capacity of 10kA to effectively handle power surges
• Wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +75°C for use in demanding environments
• Screw terminal contacts for easy installation

Can I use an AC MCB for a DC circuit?
It's not advisable to use an alternating current (AC) MCB for a direct current (DC) circuit. This is because the arc burning and arc extinguishing properties of both systems are different and an AC MCB might not trip reliably on a DC circuit.
