Omron F3SG-R Advanced Series Light Curtain, 800mm Protective Height, Type 4 Safety Type - F3SG-4RA0800-14

This light curtain provides presence-sensing protection for machinery by creating an optical barrier between a transmitter and receiver. Designed for industrial safety applications, it monitors access areas and interrupts hazardous motion when the beam pattern is broken. The product is intended for integration where high-integrity detection and controlled access to moving equipment are required.

Features and Benefits:

• 79 beams deliver fine-object detection across protected zones
• 14mm beam spacing enables improved intrusion-sensing accuracy
• Type 4 safety rating supports high-integrity machine guarding
• 0.3m minimum scanning distance allows close-proximity sensing
• 10m maximum scanning distance permits long-range installation
• 13 ms maximum response time reduces stopping latency for hazards

Applications

• Suitable for safeguarding assembly-line access points
• Ideal for perimeter protection of robotic workcells
• Used with automated feeders to prevent operator injury
• Can be used for press brake and cutting-machine guarding
• Appropriate for conveyor transfer and pick-and-place areas

What components are required to form the sensing barrier?

Two units are needed

one functions as the emitter and the other as the receiver to establish the optical curtain.

What supply voltage should be provided for operation?

The device operates from a 24V supply and must be connected to a compatible safety circuit.

How does beam count affect detection capability?

A higher beam count increases the resolution of the sensing field, improving the ability to detect smaller intrusions.

How wide an area can be protected in a single installation?

A single curtain can cover up to 10m of protective width when paired correctly.
