The ENDRESS+HAUSER switching unit used for point level detection in liquid tanks, bulk material silos, and in hazardous explosion areas. It is also suitable for liquid detection in pipes for dry running protection and overfill prevention for tanks with combustible or non-combustible liquids harmful to water. With up to three measuring devices, it allows for two-point control and point level detection. The unit has functional safety up to SIL3 in accordance with IEC 61508 using Liquiphant with electronic insert FEL57. It features intrinsically safe signal circuits for connection to Liquiphant or Soliphant and has an ambient temperature range of -20 to +70°C.
