Endress+Hauser FTM20 Series Level Switch, 70°C Maximum Operating Temperature, 25 Bar Maximum Pressure - FTM20-AA42A

This vibration level switch detects presence or absence of bulk solids and liquids through vibration sensing and is designed for industrial installation. It is mounted via a threaded connection and housed in a durable polyester enclosure, intended for processes where a compact sensor is required and hazardous-area certification is necessary.

Features and Benefits:

• Operates across an ambient range from -40°C to 70°C for wide thermal tolerance
• Withstands process pressures up to 25 bar for high-pressure systems
• Accepts supply up to 253V AC for compatibility with industrial mains
• Certified for use in explosive atmospheres under ATEX and IECEx for hazardous areas
• EPDM gasket improves resistance to common seal degradation
• Threaded mount simplifies installation into standard process connections

Applications

• Suitable for level detection in chemical storage vessels under pressure
• Ideal for monitoring bulk solids in process hoppers and silos
• Used with tank-side installations requiring hazardous-area certification
• Can be used for overfill protection on electrically powered process lines
• Suitable for retrofitting where a polyester-housed sensor is preferred

What materials make up the sensor enclosure and seal?

The external enclosure is polyester and the seal is an ethylene propylene diene monomer compound (EPDM).

What electrical supplies can be connected to the device?

It can be powered from AC supplies up to 253V AC and accepts DC supplies up to 45V DC.

How is the device mounted into process equipment?

It is fitted using a threaded mount suitable for standard threaded process ports.

Which hazardous-area approvals does it carry?

It holds approvals under both ATEX and IECEx schemes for use in classified areas.
