Eaton Emergency Mains Switch Disconnector

This Professional range of Eaton flush or surface mounted changeover, mains, maintenance and repair switches provides a solution for heavy-duty and industrial applications. This type of switches can sometimes be referred to as an emergency mains switch or emergency switch disconnector, this is because of the nature of what it has been designed to do - stop, in the case of an emergency through the pull or twist of a button.

This range of emergency isolator switches is also suitable for use in applications where there is a need to manually power down and disconnect electrical equipment for servicing and maintenance by cutting the power supply to isolated parts of the circuit. These disconnect switches can also be used as safety switches.

All the changeover switches are IP65 rated meaning they offer complete protection against contact (dust-tight) and water jets. They all have a red rotary handle and all the switches are lockable in the OFF position.

What is the difference between a fused switch disconnector and a non-fused switch disconnector?

Unlike fused switch disconnectors, a non-fuse isolator switch does not use a fuse to break or put a circuit into isolation, they instead use a rotary switch or knife-blade disconnect to isolate and de-energise a circuit. Commonly used in industrial automation and control settings.
