Fluke 62 MAX AND 62 MAX+ Infrared Thermometers
Small, exceptional accurate temperature readings and easy to use, Fluke's MAX series of infrared thermometers are precise and designed to resist a 3-meter drop. IP54 rated for dust and water resistance, these non-contact thermometers are highly durable and robust for tough environments. Featuring large backlit displays, reading data is easy even in dark areas.
The MAX+ (RS 760-0389) has dual rotating lasers that help easily identify the area to be measured, the measurement area is also shown between dots. Fluke's precise infrared laser technology allows accurate and repeatable measurements and can determine the surface temperature by measuring the amount of infrared energy radiated by the targets surface making these laser thermometers ideal for a wide range of applications.
Options:
62 Max Mini Infrared Thermometer (RS 760-0385)
Temperature range -30 °C to 500 °C
Offers single laser targeting for accurate and repeatable measurements
Provides a 10:1 Distance to spot ratio
62 Max+ Infrared Laser Thermometer (RS 760-0389)
Temperature range -30 °C to 650 °C
Precise dual-lasers for more accurate, repeatable measurements
Provides up to a 12:1 Distance to spot ratio
Features and Benefits:
• Ergonomically designed
• Small and lightweight
• Clips to tool belt or belt loop
• Displays minimum, maximum and average temperature, or the difference between 2 measurements
• Hi and lo alarms for rapid display
• Powered by single AA battery
• For non-contact temperature measurements e.g. transformers, motors, pumps to name a few
How accurate are infrared thermometers?
The majority of IR thermometers have a measurement error specification, which shows their best accuracy. The surface being measured can also affect accuracy. Reflective objects result in lower measurements than the actual temperature, whilst non-reflective surfaces give higher measurement. The emissivity of a surface is how effective it is at emitting energy as thermal radiation, as such some IR thermometers have adjustable emissivity settings.
Distance to spot ratio is also essential in providing accurate temperature measurements, if an infrared thermometer is too close to its target area, heat can build up in the device. This can give false readings or damage the sensors, therefore it is essential to always follow a manufacturers guidelines.
