Multi-Chip LEDs

Multi-chip LEDs are semi-conducting alternatives to incandescent filament lamps. Construction consists of standard filament lamp bases incorporating a current limiting resistor and a cluster of LED chips bonded onto a substrate. Multi-chip LEDs have many advantages over standard filament lamps.

Very high immunity to shock and vibration
Current consumption is between 50 and 65% lower
Lower operating temperatures

The operating voltage must not be exceeded by more than 10% as this will result in reduced life expectancy.
