Product Application Information

FIT-221 heat-shrink tubing gives you more choices to achieve reliable, rugged cabling systems. Heatshrink provides an easy solution to colour coding wires for easy circuit identification or make fast, reliable repairs to nicked or worn insulation.

For a secure fit, it is necessary that the tubing's recovered diameter (the diameter after shrinkage) is smaller than the diameter of the area to be insulated. At the same time, the tubing's expanded diameter (the diameter before shrinkage) needs to be large enough to fit easily over the area to be insulated, as well as any connectors attached to it.

Benefits of Polyolefin

Polyolefin is a polymer which is often used in heat shrink tubing as it has excellent mechanical and electrical properties. Polyolefin is also flexible, fast-shrinking and can be manufactured in a wide range of colours.
