From the trusted brand RS PRO, a range of heat shrinkable tubing suitable for the insulation protection of the products with irregular shapes and large differences in outer diameter between the cables, connectors and components. The hot melt adhesive that coated inside of the tubing providing reliable and waterproof performance. It is widely used in waterproof protection for outlet hole of fibre optic splice closures.
Once heated, the outer protective layer is formed and the inner forms an adhesive layer that protects against moisture and secures the object firmly. Adhesive lined heat shrink offers excellent insulation and adhesion to rubber, PVC, PE, aluminium and can be used in various fields such as communications, power cables, and chemical pipelines.

What are Heat Shrink Tubes?

Heat shrink tubing is a type of extruded plastic tubing that can be cut to size and fitted over a wire or cable joint to protect and insulate the connection. When heated is applied the tubing shrinks permanently providing a protective seal. The amount it shrinks depends on its shrink ratio. When you buy the tubing, it is in its expanded state, this expanded tubing has a memory so when it is heated it returns to its original state. Larger shrink ratios are required to cover materials with a greater size variation.
