It uses an active converter with a chipset to transform digital HDMI signals to analogue Super Video Graphics Arrays (SVGA).
The cable's contacts are highly resistant to corrosion – gold-plated on the HDMI connector, nickel on the VGA end – and they're housed in impact-resistant thermoplastic. This means the cable is hard-wearing and will last a long time. The VGA connector is also fitted with finger screws, so you won't need additional tools to secure the connection.
