RS Pro Shielded Aluminium alloy ADC12 enclosure / box is designed to manage high temperature conditions not greater than 150°C and is a good quality aluminium. The enclosure is not sealed but has a lipped fitted lid which is securely screwed in place. The enclosure / box has a wall thickness of 2 mm.
What is the enclosure manufactured from?
Diecast aluminium alloy ADC 12 (LM2, BS1490).;ADC12 is a general purpose alloy. The alloy has good fluidity plus can be clear powder painted and finished with various chemical treatments.;LM2 is a pressure diecasting alloy conforming to BS1490 1988. The alloy is often specified as an alternative LM24 in pressure diecasting applications.
Is the enclosure sealed?
No, this enclosure is not sealed but is supplied with a lip providing a secure fit.;M3.5 x 9 mm coutersunk Screws keep the lid in place.
RS Pro Aluminium Enclosure - EMI/RFI Screened Stove Finish
From RS Pro, these aluminium enclosures with flanges for wall mounting or mounting on a place of installation to house electrical components. Made of Aluminium alloy ADC-12 with a stove acrylic finish. Close fitting lips are secured with Stainless Steel M3.5 countersunk screws. All models are highly reliable and excellent quality.

Can the enclosure be used outside?
Unfortunately not, as this enclosure does not offer an IP rating, use of the enclosure in an outdoor environment would put the contents at risk.
