TE Connectivity 3.96 mm MTA-156 PCB Headers with Friction Lock

MTA-156 unshrouded PCB headers for use with MTA-156 IDC connectors to mass terminate wires in a wide variety of applications. These MTA-156 headers are end to end stackable and have a friction lock mechanism to ensure a secure mating connection. Vertical and right angle mounting versions of these MTA-156 headers are available.

Features and Benefits

• Allow cost saving mass termination of wires when used with IDC connectors
• End to end stackable
• Friction lock mechanism for secure mating connection

Applications

These MTA-156 PCB headers are suitable for mass terminating wires in a wide range of applications. In the automotive industry, these connectors can be used for body systems, chassis systems, driver information, safety and security systems. In the computer and consumer electronics industries applications include desktop PCs, notebooks, servers, storage and workstations.

The Ruland High Stiffness Bellows Coupling has fewer convolutions than comparably sized increased misalignment styles, providing increased torsional stiffness, making it ideal for precision positioning applications. It is comprised of two anodized aluminium hubs and a stainless steel bellows for a lightweight and low inertia design. Engineered with a balanced design, it reduces vibration at high speeds up to 10,000 RPM. The thin walls of the bellows flex while remaining rigid under torsional loads, accommodating all forms of misalignment.

TE Connectivity MTA-156 3.96mm Interconnect System

MTA-156 (Mass Termination Assembly) 3.96 mm pitch connector system for labour and cost saving mass termination of wires in wire-to-board and wire-to-wire applications. These MTA-156 connectors are based on IDC (insulation displacement contact) technology allowing one-step assembly and eliminating the need for wire stripping saving both time and cost. Using production hand tooling these MTA-156 IDC connectors can be quickly assembled to 26 AWG to 18 AWG discrete wire or ribbon cable. The MTA-156 connector system consists of female IDC connectors and PCB headers. The housings of the IDC connectors are colour coded according to wire size
