StarTech.com Multimode Fibre Optic Cable, 2m Length, OM3 Fibre Type - MPO12PL2M

Connect devices in your local area network using this fibre optic cable from StarTech.com. It's a multimode cable with a 50-micron core to optimise the amount of data that passes through it. As an OM3 type of fibre cable, it supports speeds up to 40Gbps. This makes it suitable for use in offices, residential buildings and schools.

ReliableEvery cable is fully tested for insertion loss and return loss, so you can be confident of a reliable connection.
ConvenientThe MPO-style (multi-fibre push-on) connectors and push-and-pull tabs make the cable easy to handle and install.
Fire-safeThe plenum-rated cable is made of fire-resistant material that creates minimal smoke when ignited. You can use it in ducts and other spaces where air circulates to help keep public buildings and workspaces safe.

• Can be used with switches and break-out cables for extra versatility
• Contains no more than trace amounts of harmful substances to increase safety
• Industry-standard aqua sheath colour, for easy identification

This MPO/MTP fiber optic cable houses 12 fibers and lets you interface between different networking devices of varying speeds. For example, you can set up a one-to-one connection between two 40Gbps switches or servers. Alternatively, you can connect a 40Gbps switch and break out the 40Gbps into six duplex 10Gbps LC connections on a patch panel or network cassette, which then fans out to individual 10Gbps devices. The MTP connector provides 12 times the density of an SC connector and saves circuit card and rack space. Plus, the push-and-pull tabs optimize accessibility by letting you install or remove the connectors with one hand without needing additional tools. The MTP to MTP cable is housed in a plenum-rated jacket.
