3M™ Scotch 92 Polyimide Film Electrical Tape 92

From 3M™, this Polyimide Film Electrical Tape 92 is tough and durable despite its 1mm thickness. It is specially designed for high-temperature applications such as coils, capacitors and harnesses, and it's acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive allows quick and easy application without the requirement for heat or moisture. The Scotch 92 insulating tape is also UL510 Flame retardant and is ideal for applications where a tough, thin insulating tape is needed such as wire harnesses and anchoring terminal boards.

Features and Benefits

• Adhesive polyimide tape with acrylic pressure-sensitive silicone adhesive
• Specially designed for high-temperature applications requiring a thin puncture-resistant backing
• Tough polyimide tape with good tensile stress and dielectric strength
• 1 mm film
• UL 510 Flame Retardant

Application

This 3M polyimide tape is designed especially for high-temperature applications that require a thin puncture resistant backing. The 1 mm film is not only thin but very tough, and so is ideal for applications that require printability and flame resistance (UL510). It can be used for masking in wave soldering PCB applications, and for wrapping transformers and capacitors. This versatile tape might be used in;

• Maintenance
• Industrial applications
• Aerospace
• Military

Can cables with exposed wires be made safe with this tape?

Electrical tape, also known as insulating tape, is designed with this purpose in mind, however, it is recommended that qualified professionals are consulted when dealing with potentially live electrical wires.

What are electrical tapes?

A range of tapes for electrical installation and repair work; soldered joints and seams; insulation of soldered joints, terminals, cable sockets and conduction rails.

Why choose 3M?

3M are a trusted name in tapes and adhesives. With a huge range of versatile and specialist tapes, 3M support dozens of industries and applications, from heavy-duty construction to DIY around the home. Whatever your needs, from insulation tapes for electronics applications, to general-purpose tapes, 3M supplies an adhesive tape that won't let you down.

Standards

UL 510 Flame retardant

3M Electrical Tape, Thermosetting Silicone Adhesive, 53N/cm Tensile Strength - T9238

Need a substantial flame-retardant insulator for your electric components? Choose this 38mm (W) x 33m (L) electrical tape from 3M to securely wrap coils and anchor leads and seal electrical components. Because it holds its bond in temperatures between -40°C and +180°C, you can rely on this product in harsh industrial settings. Thanks to the pressure-sensitive thermosetting silicone adhesive, making a firm attachment is a matter of simply pressing down.

• Flame-retardent polyamide backing reduces the risk of shocks and electrical fires
• Tensile strength of 53N/cm offers a strong bond that holds static and moving components together
• Stretches up to 55% of its original length before breaking, for reliability

Applications

• Electrical installations
• Manufacturing industry
• Aerospace technology

How insulating is this tape?

This tape can withstand voltages up to 3000V before it starts to break down, which suits most applications.
