3M™ Polyester Film Electrical Tape 56

From 3M™ the Polyester Film Electrical Tape 56 is a 1 mm conformable polyester film tape with rubber thermosetting adhesive. The tape has pressure-sensitive adhesive coated on one side and doesn’t require heat or moisture to apply. This allows for quick and accurate application in most settings.

The yellow PET tape is thin yet durable, with excellent resistance to weathering and scratching, meaning it is ideal for more challenging electrical applications. The insulation tape can also perform at temperatures of -40°C to 130°C without any loss of electrical properties.

Features and Benefits

• General-purpose polyester insulation tape with thermosetting rubber adhesive
• Designed for insulating applications requiring a thin, durable tape with high dielectric strength
• Withstands higher-temperature conditions than tapes with acetate cloth backings
• Conformable, exhibits excellent chemical, solvent and moisture resistance and resists cut-through and abrasion
• 1 mm film thickness

Application

3M™ Polyester Film electrical insulation tape is a 1 mm conformable yellow polyester film tape with rubber thermosetting adhesive. It provides excellent chemical, solvent, and moisture resistance that resists cut-through and abrasion. It is designed for insulating applications requiring a thin, durable insulation tape. A reliable transparent adhesive tape, it can also be used in office and warehouse environments for applications such as;

Can wires with exposed cables be made safe with this tape?

Electrical tape, also known as insulating tape, is designed with this purpose in mind, however, it is recommended that qualified professionals are consulted when dealing with potentially live electrical wires.

What are electrical tapes?

A range of tapes for electrical installation and repair work; soldered joints and seams; insulation of soldered joints, terminals, cable sockets and conduction rails.

Why choose 3M?

3M are a trusted name in tapes and adhesives. With a huge range of versatile and specialist tapes, 3M support dozens of industries and applications, from heavy-duty construction to DIY around the home. Whatever your needs, from insulation tapes to general-purpose, 3M supplies an adhesive tape that won't let you down.

3M Electrical Tape, Yellow, 15mm Width - T5615

Looking for thin insulating tape to withstand high voltages? Use this 3M electrical tape. It has a high dielectric breakdown rating of 5,000V, so it's suitable for use with heavy-duty electrical systems. As the adhesive material is thermosetting rubber, the tape bonds firmly with surfaces and resists temperatures as high as +130°C, meaning it works effectively in demanding conditions.

• Polyester film backing to protect against cutting and abrasion
• Thermosetting rubber adhesive for resistance to chemicals and solvents
• Adhesive strength of 5.5N/10mm when applied to steel surfaces for reliability
• Breaking strength of 44N/10mm for durability

Applications

• Electrical insulation
• Printed circuit board fabrication
• Composite bonding protection

What are the dimensions of this tape?

This tape has a width of 15mm and a thickness of 0.058mm. It comes on a convenient roll of 66m, so you'll have plenty of hand for numerous tasks.
