Intelligent Display Solutions RS485 Interface Board for Alphanumeric LCDs

The IES-ABB-RS485-01, from Intelligent Embedded Solutions (IES), is a RS485 backer board for alphanumeric LCDs. It simply joins on the back of the LCD module for a compact solution. This backer board enables the user to connect up to 32 alphanumeric LCDs to a single RS485 compatible bus. The IES-ABB-RS485-01 provides the user with complete addressable control of character placement, customisation and cursor movements, making application set up quick and easy.
Featuring built-in supply regulation for the LCD and the backlight, the IES-ABB-RS485-01 offers a fully 'jumperless' setup of internal features over the serial link.This includes number of lines, backlight brightness (15 levels) and serial baud rate (9600 default).
Alongside this, the IES-ABB-RS485-01 also has an industrial grade RS485 bus protection, switch configuration of load resistor and pull-up/down resistors. All of these features make the backer board ideal for applications with distributed visual feedback systems in hostile environments.
