Molex Mini-Fit Female Crimp Contact, 24 to 18AWG - 5556 Series - 39-00-0038

Make reliable electrical connections to a PCB (printed circuit board) where spacing is tight with this Molex Mini-Fit female crimp contact. It's specially designed for use with the Mini-Fit Jr housings. The terminal provides four separate points of contact, enabling redundant and secondary current paths for a stronger, long-lasting join. Locking tangs secure the housing to the contacts to prevent loosening. It's made of brass and plated with tin to provide enhanced conductivity and prevent corrosion.

• Polarised mating geometry ensures header and receptacle or plug and receptacle can't be mismatched
• Wide operating temperature of -40°C to +105°C for use in a wide range of harsh industrial environments
• Satisfies all required EU environmental and safety standards
• Low halogen content reduces risk of toxicity if the contact is exposed to excessive heat or fire

Applications

• Industrial automation
• Consumer electronics
• Communications and networking

What are the advantages of using a crimp contact?

A crimp connection is fast and easy to make and secure, and because no filler alloys are used to make the connection, the bond is mechanically stronger than soldered alternatives. It's also airtight and prevents moisture and debris from corroding the wires.
