Copper-clad steel strands combine the tensile strength of steel with the conductivity of copper. They're insulated with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and shielded with silver-plated copper braid from electromagnetic interference, maintaining a high-quality signal. RG179 coaxial cables are commonly used in metrology and broadband communications.
