This construction has the added advantage of minimising power loss and allowing cooler operation for greater efficiency. It has a T fuse speed to give a 10-second time delay before breaking. This slow-acting function means it's unlikely to blow when temporary overloads and surges occur, cutting down nuisance tripping and reducing the need for frequent fuse replacement.
