RS PRO Carbon Fibre Sheet, 300 mm x 300 mm x 2 mm
These carbon fibre sheets from RS PRO are the preferred replacement for heavy metallic materials in applications where strong but lightweight components are required, such as in aerospace, automotive and railway settings. The sheets are rigid and able to withstand heavy loads and even sudden impact without bending or buckling.
Their carbon fibre material is produced by combining polymer fibres such as polyacrylonitrile with an epoxy resin matrix system. This process gives the sheets two sides: one resin-rich side that's smooth and glossy and a reverse side with twill fabric weave detail, giving them a sleek appearance that modern furniture designers love. They have a density of just 1.6 g/cm³ and can withstand operating temperatures of +80°C.
While there are plenty of industrial uses for carbon fibre, the superior performance of the material has allowed for use in consumer goods like phone cases, state-of-the-art speaker cabinets and motorcycle conversion kits.
