The panel to tongue depth is 20.5 mm, and the lock fits into a 16.2 mm x 14.2 mm hole. The lock is die-cast from zinc alloy so it's extremely corrosion-resistant, and the knob has been powder-coated for additional protection.

As part of the reliable RS PRO range, the latch has been stringently tested by engineers to ensure it meets safety standards. It conforms to the American National Standards Institute's Electrostatic Discharge Association (ANSI/ESD S20.20:2014) standard, as well as British Standard European Norm (BS EN 61340-5-1:2007) electrostatic discharge standards.
