RS PRO Three Phase Brake Module, 5.5 kW, 380 to 415 V AC
Bring your machine to a controlled stop quickly and efficiently with the RS PRO three-phase brake module. It works by injecting direct current into your AC motor's winding. This neutralises the electromagnetic field and stops the motor from rotating. These products are generally used as an alternative to a friction braking system. You'll find them in industrial settings like factories and workshops.
This brake module is compact and mounts onto a 35 mm symmetrical DIN (Deutsche Institut für Normung or German Institute of Standardisation) rail. You can adjust the braking time and torque to achieve optimal braking performance to suit your equipment. The braking function will generally start within 0.6 seconds.
It's suitable for use with a range of equipment that stops slowly, such as mechanical saws and rolling mills. Please note, this module is designed for use as a production brake and should not be used in emergency situations.
