3M™ Cubitron™ II Fibre Disc 982C

3M™ Cubitron™ II Fibre Disc 982C contains a 3M Precision Shaped Grain engineered to offer up to twice the cut-rate surpassing other conventional discs in both performance and longevity. The Cubitron™ II Fibre Disc is designed to maximise cutting effectiveness, minimising grinding pressure and operator fatigue.

Outstanding Cutting Performance

The 982C disc contains 3M Precision Shaped Grain which forms into triangularly shaped grains and electrostatically positioned onto the backing. The grains then act as individual cutting tools, reducing metal discolouration with extreme efficiency. The disc is worn evenly and continuously self sharpens until the points break off. This reduces the heat build-up due to friction and extends the life of the disc.

Using the 3M™ Cubitron™ II 982C outperforms conventional ceramic discs. This fibre wheel is well-suited to edge chamfering, machining grooves, removing steel welds and more

Features and Benefits

3M Precision Shaped Grain technology cuts exceptionally fast with less pressure, outperforming all conventional ceramic industrial abrasive discs

Lasts up to twice as long as conventional discs

Get significantly longer disc life, completing more parts per disc with fewer disc changes required

With triangular shaped ceramic grain that wears evenly, runs cool and optimises the mineral breakdown

Durable and tear resistant with a stiff fibre backing and strong resin bond for high-pressure weld grinding and bevelling

Minimises operator fatigue with 3M Precision Shaped Grain reducing grinding pressure

Recommended using a backing plate with this disc.

Typical Applications

These heavy-duty fibre discs are great for weld removals, grinding and blending large and small metal areas. This could occur in industries such as farm and construction, automotive, ship and boat building, metal fabrication.

3M Abrasive Disc, 22mm Bore Size, Pack of 25 - Cubitron II Series - 3M 982C diam 115, 36+

Keep clearing flaws from your workpieces for longer with this abrasive disc from 3M. Its ceramic abrasive quickly cuts metal away, tackling difficult burrs and welds without a snag. While working, the disc's surface splits to reveal new cutting edges, meaning it stays sharp and delivers consistent grinding. Reliable performance across wet and dry applications makes this a versatile choice. Don't worry about rounded surfaces, as the fibre backing flexes to your workpiece to achieve an even finish.

Features & Benefits

• Disc diameter of 115mm to speed across large areas
• Runs cool, minimising operating temperatures for long service life
• Slots onto standard 22mm bore for hassle-free fitting

Applications

• Milling and chamfering
• Rail industry
• Steel production

What's the maximum speed I can run this disc at?

This component works at speeds up to 13,300rpm, keeping up with powerful tools to reduce the need for extra operator force.
