The 3M™ 501C fibre disc contains a 3M high-performance Zirconia aluminium abrasive grain on a durable fibre backing. It offers a continuous fast cutting action and consistency. Suitable for a variety of general purpose metalworking applications from weld removal, deburring and blending.

Outstanding Cutting Performance

The 501C disc contains an impressive Zirconia aluminium abrasive blend gives a good performance on mild and stainless steels. The blend breaks down to produce a consistently sharp edge that cuts faster than conventional abrasives. Designed for heavy removal and high pressure grinding. The fibre discs are rigid that delivers a fast cut for grinding and weld removals and due to the resin bond, the disc is heat resistant.

Features and Benefits

Alumina zirconia breaks down to produce a consistently sharp edge that cuts faster than aluminium oxide and is suitable for stock removal on all metals, including stainless steel

Stiff fibre backing provides the durability needed for weld removal and other medium pressure applications such as deburring or rust removal

Durable resin bond resists deterioration from heat, increasing disc life and provides excellent mineral retention for edge grinding

Closed coat provides added life and cut 22.23 mm centre hole mount is compatible with 3M™ disc pad face plates (sold separately - RS 337-3929)

Typical Applications

These fibre discs are great for weld removals, grinding and blending large and small metal areas. This could occur in industries such as farm and construction, automotive, ship and boat building, metal fabrication.
