Centrifugal Pumps
A centrifugal pump is designed to move fluid by means of the transfer or rotational energy from one or more driven rotors called impellers within a casing. Fluid enters the pump impeller along or near to the rotating axis (or eye). As the impeller rotates the liquid is accelerated and cast radially outward by centrifugal force and exits at the outside diameter. The fluid is then directed to the pump outlet by a volute casing. Centrifugal water pumps are ideal for pumping higher flow rates, applications include water, sewage and petroluem.
