Earthing Straps
Earthing straps, also known as bonding or grounding straps, are flexible electrical conductors used to connect metallic components to the earth. They provide a low-resistance path for fault currents, helping to protect against electric shock, equipment damage, and fire hazards. Earthing straps are commonly used in control panels, enclosures, and industrial grounding systems.
Types of Earthing Straps
- Copper Earthing Straps – Bare Copper for high-conductivity, and corrosion-resistant tinned copper.
- Flat Braid - Ideal for grounding over larger surface areas.
- Round Braid - Compact braided straps for tighter installations.
- Brass – Offers good conductivity and corrosion resistance, commonly used in mechanical earthing applications.
- Tinned Bronze – Has resistance to oxidation and corrosion, good mechanical strength and conductivity.
- Steel –Used for mechanical strength and durability over good conductivity.
