Temp Sensor
Temp Sensors are used in a wide range of industrial and commercial applications. Temp Sensors are one of the most common types of Thermistors used in industry today. They are a popular choice as they last longer, function better, and are incredibly accurate.
RS offer an extensive selection of high-quality Temp Sensors from industry-leading brands including Amphenol, Carel, EPCOS & TE Connectivity
How does a Temp Sensor work?
Temp Sensors, in the form of Thermistors, use resistance to detect temperature. Resistance increases and decreases with changes with temperature dependant on the type of Temp Sensor being used. The amount of change in resistance is dependent on the detecting material used in the thermistor and the media being measured. A Temp Sensor is used to monitor the temperature of the Thermistor and sends a signal to a heater or cooler to regulate the temperature of the sensor. Applications for Temp Sensors include
- Digital Thermometers
- Overcurrent Protection
- Motor Starters
- Household Appliances
- HVAC Refrigeration
Temp Sensors possess some key features including
- Extremely long life
- High efficiency
- Low power requirements
- Easy to install and maintain
- Safe and convenient
