Belden Individually Shielded Extended Distance Multipair Cable, RS-232/422

The individually shielded extended distance cable from Belden provides efficient and reliable signal communication for your application.

It uses 24 AWG (7x32) tinned copper conductors for high conductivity, which are insulated with Datalene® and laid in twisted pairs. It also features the signature Beldfoil® patented shield which offers lightweight, flexible, and strong shielding. The nominal characteristic impedance is 100 Ohm.

Belden’s multipair cables are designed to ensure dependable signaling for critical applications and support ease-of-installation, for a signal transmission solution you can rely on.

Features and Benefits:

• Highly recommended for use in RS422 systems
• Uses stranded tinned copper drain wire for effective grounding
• Twisted pair construction negates crosstalk and guards against EMI (electromagnetic interference)
• 100% coverage due to Beldfoil aluminium-polyester shield with a Zfold construction on each pair

Applications:

RS-422
RS-232
Panel wiring
Computer communications
Low voltage analog signals
Low voltage digital control
Digital audio

What is Datalene® and why is it used?

Datalene® is a type of foamed high density polyethylene insulation which used for computer and data transmission cables. It is crush-resistant yet lightweight and performs well over a wide range of temperatures, making it highly beneficial for electronic cabling in industrial and commercial environments.

Standards:

UL2493; NEC CM (9729,9730,9728); IEC 332-3C (9729NH)
