RS PRO 1 kΩ Carbon Film Resistor 1 W ±5%
This RS PRO resistor restricts the electric current through your device so it functions safely. It comprises a roll of carbon film spiralled around a ceramic rod. This is contained in tinned iron caps and coated in insulation to keep the electric current contained and controlled.
The tinned iron caps are shock-resistant so the resistor will remain undisturbed by any sudden changes in electrical flow. Each of the leaded wires extending from the sides is thin, solder-plated and bendable to make installing the resistor to your device easy. Epoxy resin is used to coat the carbon film, protecting it from damage and helping the device last longer.
This resistor is commonly used in power supplies and for a wide range of circuits. It meets the requirements of ANSI/ESD S20.20:2014 and BS EN 61340-5-1:2007 Electrostatic Control Standards. This assures it's been packed and handled appropriately as a device that's sensitive to electrostatic discharge.
