General purpose threadlocking
Particularly suitable for less active surfaces e.g. stainless steel
Prevents loosening through vibration and leakage of threaded fasteners
Benefits
- Medium strength oil tolerant torque tension grade
- General purpose threadlocking
- Particularly suitable for less active surfaces e.g. stainless steel, aluminum, plated surfaces
- Prevents loosening through vibration and leakage of threaded fasteners
Features
- Technology: Acrylic
- Chemical Type: Dimethacrylate ester
- Fluorescence: Positive under UV light
- Components: One component - requires no mixing
- Viscosity: Medium, thixotropic
- Cure: Anaerobic
- Secondary: Cure Activator
- Application: Threadlocking
- Strength: Medium
Note
Testing should be carried out prior to contact with styrene, acrylic and polycarbonate based plastics to ensure compatibility.
This Loctite 243 is designed for the locking and sealing of threaded fasteners which require normal disassembly with standard hand tools. It offers high temperature performance and oil tolerance.

How to use Loctite 243?
- Clear all surfaces (external and internal) with a cleaning solvent and allow to dry
- Cure speed too slow? You need to use appropriate activator and then allow to dry it when needed
- Shake it before use
- To prevent the Loctite 243 from clogging in the nozzle, avoid tip and metal surface get in contact during application
- Store in dry location
How to clean Loctite 243 after using?
It could be removed with a combination of soaking in a solvent and wire brush.
Where can you use Loctite 243?
It works on active metals such as brass or copper as well as on passive substrates ie. stainless steel and plated surfaces.
It is proven to be tolerant of minor contamination due to industrial oils, e.g. engine oils, corrosion prevention oils and cutting fluids.
Benefits
- Prevents loosening on vibrating assemblies, e.g. pumps, gear boxes or presses
- Works on all metals, including passive substrates (e.g. stainless steel, aluminium, plated surfaces)
