Honeywell Thermostatic Switch, +160°C Opening Temperature, +135°C Closing Temperature - 2455RC Series - 2455RC-90820388
This thermostatic switch from Honeywell regulates liquid or air in a temperature control system by switching the system off or on to help maintain a set temperature. Its bimetallic construction consists of nickel and steel strips that bridge together to complete an electrical circuit. The nickel metal heats up and bends to cause a physical break in the circuit when its opening temperature of +160°C is reached. When the control system cools to +135°C, the nickel assumes its original shape and the circuit is reconnected.
Features & Benefits
• Ceramic housing material is heat-resistant to maintain switch durability
• Wide operating temperature range of 0°C to +260°C for use in demanding environments
• Contact rating of 15A at 250V AC (alternating current) for use in medium-power applications
• Wide operating temperature range of 0°C to +260°C for use in demanding environments

Applications
• Air conditioning units
• Heating systems
• Circulation pumps

How quickly does this thermostatic switch open and close?
This thermostatic switch opens and closes slowly and gradually as the nickel strip takes time to expand and contract. This helps ensure that heating systems are not needlessly switched on or off.
