RS PRO 2-Wire Programmable Transmitter

RS PRO introduces a brilliant range of programmable temperature transmitters. These temperature transmitters provide unrivalled input versatility for virtually any thermocouple and bipolar mV signals. The input sensor redundancy function maintains process availability and safety in the event of primary sensor failure.

Features and Benefits

RTD, TC, Ohm, or mV input
Extremely high measurement accuracy
1.5 kVAC galvanic isolation
Programmable sensor error value
For DIN form B sensor head mounting

Applications

It is very important in many industries to ensure that temperatures are reliable and accurate to ensure that products are protected from different temperature ranges for example:

Control rooms
Production lines
Furnaces
Chemical processing plants
Factories
Power generation plants

Technical Characteristics

Within a few seconds the user can program the transmitter to measure temperatures within all ranges defined by the norms.
The RTD and resistance inputs have cable compensation for 2, 3 and 4-wire connection.
Continuous check of vital stored data for safety reasons.
Conversion of linear resistance variation to a standard analog current signal, for instance from valves or Ohmic level sensors.
Linearized temperature measurement with Pt100...Pt1000, Ni100...Ni1000, or TC sensor
Amplification of a bipolar mV signal to a standard 4...20 mA current signal

Mounting / Installation

For DIN form B sensor head or DIN rail mounting with the fitting type 8421.

How Do Temperature Transmitters Work?

Temperature transmitters are electrical components that connect a temperature sensor, most commonly, a thermocouple, RTD or thermistor to a measurement or control device such as a loop controller, PLC, DCS, PC, data logger etc. Temperature transmitters isolate, amplify, filter noise, linearize and convert the input signal from the sensor it is connected to, for example - a thermocouple, it then transmits a standardised output signal to the control device of your choice like a data logger.
