ABB Surge Suppressor Unit
The ABB OVR series surge suppressor unit is a protective device to ensure that electrical equipment is not damaged by a sudden voltage spike. It has an electrical rating of 132V and 20kA. It is a combined category D, C, B tested protector suitable for twisted pair signalling applications, which require either a lower in-line resistance, increased current and/or higher bandwidth. Also, suitable for DC power applications less than 0.75Amps. For use at boundaries up to LPZ 0 to protect against flashover (typically the service entrance location) through to LPZ 3 to protect sensitive electronic equipment.
