It senses the position of a magnetic actuator to make one electrical NO (normally open) auxiliary contact and break a second NC (normally closed) safety connection. It has a voltage rating of 24V AC/DC, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. The switch has an IP67 (ingress protection) rating, so you can confidently use it in challenging industrial environments.
