The Spartan 440G-S36001 guard locking device is a positive mode and tongue operated switch that firmly locks safety guards while machinery is in motion and isolates power when the barrier is released. This helps to prevent unsafe access to dangerous areas for personnel and reduces risk of damage to equipment through premature interference. The mechanism can only be released when a signal is applied to the internal solenoid, which allows the tongue to be removed from the switch. The Spartan switch is a cost-effective solution which is perfectly suited for use with machinery that does not come to an immediate stop.

This Power-to-Release safety switch has a supply voltage rating of 24VAC/DC and 2NC Safety Contacts and 1NO Auxiliary Contact. It provides enhanced stability with a high holding force of 770N (173 lbs). Conduit entry is M20. The housing material is comprised of UL approved resilient glass-filled polyester, and this switch has an operating temperature of -20°C to 60°C. It has a thermal current of 10A.
