AD9161/AD9162, 12GSPS RF Digital-to-Analogue Converters Evaluation Boards, Analog Devices
The AD9161 and AD9162 Evaluation Boards come with FMC connector that complies to the Vita 57.1 standard. They are match optimised for wider output bandwidth with balun on DAC output. There are three variants of the board for each DAC with the part number extension -FMC, -FMCB, -FMCC. The -FMC boards use a Marki Microwave wideband balun, while the other boards use a Mini-Circuits balun on the DAC output.
The AD9161 is an 11-bit and the AD9162 is a 16-bit Digital-to-Analogue converter (DAC). Both DACs support data rates of 6 GSPS. An effective DAC update rate of up to 12 GSPS is enabled in some modes, based on a quad-switch architecture coupled with a 2x interpolator filter. A serial peripheral interface (SPI) can configure the AD9161/AD9162 and monitor the status of all registers. The high dynamic range and bandwidth of the radio frequency (RF) DACs is best suited for Broadband and Wireless communications applications.
