Siemens SINAMICS SMC30 Series Sensor Accessory, TTL/HTL Compatibility, cULus Approval - 6SL3055-0AA00-5CA2

This sensor accessory provides an onboard Interface for incremental and absolute encoders, enabling evaluation of TTL/HTL and SSI signals within drive systems. Designed for integration in control cabinets, it supports high-frequency encoder inputs and supplies dedicated sensor power to connected encoders, facilitating position feedback for motion control applications.

Features & Benefits

• Supports encoder frequencies up to 500kHz for high-speed feedback
• Evaluates SSI at 100 to 1000 kBaud for accurate absolute position
• Supplies sensor power at 5V and 35V with 0.35A for flexible encoder options
• Accepts unipolar TTL/HTL up to 100m line length for convenient wiring
• Handles bipolar HTL signals to 300m when twisted and shielded for long runs

**Applications**

• Suitable for feedback in servo and inverter-driven axes
• Ideal for interfacing TTL/HTL incremental encoders in machines
• Used with SSI absolute encoders for high-resolution position control
• Can be used where extended encoder cabling is required in plants

What input current does it present to incremental encoders?

Incremental TTL and HTL inputs draw between 2A and 10A depending on signal conditions.

How does the unit manage electrical protection and power?

The module runs from a 24V DC supply consuming 0.20A and requires fuse protection rated at 20A.

What environmental enclosure rating applies to this device?

The unit is intended for installations with IP20 protection and is classed as UL open type.

What connector capacity is recommended for line-side cabling?

Line-side conductors up to 2.5 mm² (AWG 14) are accommodated for power and signal terminations.

How does it affect system thermal load?

Maximum power dissipation is 10W, which should be considered when planning panel ventilation.
