Black Oxide Finished Steel Hexagonal Metric Cap & Socket Screw Kit

From the trusted RS PRO brand, this set of high-quality hexagonal metric cap and socket screws have a hexagonal drive and a black oxide finish. Socket screws are tightened using an Allan or Hex key, making them ideal for use in applications where externally wrenched fasteners are not practical because of a lack of space. Metric cap head screws have a larger head diameter than the screw shaft yet a smaller diameter than most machine screws, making them more appropriate for holding thin materials such as sheet metal guards while still being discreet.

In this kit, you will find a range of 450 socket screws with metric cap heads and hexagonal sockets for Allan or hex keys. The kit includes thread sizes of M3, M4 and M5 with lengths ranging from 6mm to 30mm.

Features and Benefits

  • Button head hexagonal socket screws to DIN912 standards

  • Steel with black oxide finish

  • Supplied in a polypropylene case with a hinged lid

Applications

The strength of steel due to its carbon content makes it a versatile component material that can withstand wear and tear. The black oxide finish provides a resistance to corrosion and wear, granting these screws the same qualities as their stainless steel counterparts.

Compared to ordinary fasteners, fewer socket screws of the same size can achieve an equal clamping force in a joint. As fewer screws are required for a given job, fewer holes are required to be drilled and tapped, as well as reducing the overall project weight as fewer, smaller screws are used.
