Overview
The Linear measurement sensors from SICK use highly innovative technologies for the non-contact measurement of positions, speeds, and lengths. The OLM sensors' camera-based system determines the current position based on a mounted bar code tape. This acts as a reference point against which the OLM sensor can position itself accurately, depending on variants, over a length of up to 10 km and as little as 0.15 mm, regardless of whether the product travel path is in a straight line or curved.
The Linear measurement sensors from OLM100 Hi family offers high performance in a small housing. The OLM100 Hi is a high performance variant of the well known OLM100. The strengths of the OLM100 Hi include very high travel speeds, extremely precise repeatability and an SSI interface for direct feedback into drive.

Your Benefit
High travel speed linked to precise positioning increases system efficiency and improves throughput
Camera-based system with no moving parts increases the sensor's service life, thus reducing lifecycle costs considerably
Very small housing dimensions combined with the latest industrial interfaces ensure integration into almost any system design, even where space is limited
Serial interfaces (RS-422, SSI, and CANopen) offer highest flexibility and easiest system integration, hence saving costs for interface converters and protocol adaption
The large temperature range from –30°C to +60°C offers reliable use in many applications
