When metal objects throw a spanner in the works, turn to this proximity sensor from Turck to detect them. It works using inductive technology, emitting a high-frequency electromagnetic field through an RLC circuit and ferrite coil. When metal enters the unit's 1.5mm detection range, it interferes with the field and sets off the sensor. Thanks to an LED indicator, it's a breeze to check the sensor's status. An M8 threaded connector makes it a cinch to connect to standard parts.
