Applications:
An ultrasonic proximity sensor is a non-contact device that is able to detect the presence or absence of virtually any object regardless of material. The sensors do this by emitting a high-frequency sonic pulse and monitoring the signal that is reflected back, picking up the difference in measurement, for example, if an object or obstacle is detected. An output signal is given when this happens – this is most commonly based on the measurement parameters and configuration the sensor has been set up with – and is then converted into a measurement distance for the user to evaluate.
