Broadcom AFBR-S50LV85D ToF 3D sensor module can measure medium distances up to 30m and has a field of view (FoV) of 12.4° x 6.2° with 32 pixels. The optical Time of Flight sensor has an Integrated 850 nm laser light source and depending on the distance of the measured object it can transmit a 2° x 2° beam illuminating between 1 and 3 pixels.

The AFBR-S50 series ToF optical distance and motion measurement sensor has an accurate high speed measurement frame rate and can even support up to 3kHz. It has a compact module size and very low power consumption. The Time of Flight 3D sensor ASIC is equipped with voltage and temperature sensors and an internal clock source, alongside a 32 pixel receiver.

Applications include distance measurement and security surveillance where 3D image sensing is more accurate making it easier to identify people or objects. Logistics, robotics and factory automation to safely recognise the environment along with human machine interfaces.
