Molex Female Crimp Terminal, 12AWG, 23A Current Rating - Mega-Fit Series - 172063-0312

Use this female crimp terminal from Molex to reliably secure wires to your PCBs. It has 6 independent contacts and a split-box design that allows hot-plugging for up to 30 cycles at 48V and 23A. This means you don't have to restart essential systems like servers to add components. The gold-plated copper-alloy contacts are highly conductive and there are extended crimping barrels to keep your wires securely attached. As this terminal has a very broad operating temperature range of -55°C to +105°C, it's suitable for use in demanding conditions.

• Crimp termination method gives a secure and airtight connection

• Accommodates commonly used 12AWG wires

• Nickel-plated termination is resistant to corrosion for a longer lifespan

Applications

• Medical equipment

• Domestic appliances

• Telecommunications systems

• Automotive applications

• Aerospace industry

What's meant by contact gender?

Crimp contacts, like this one from Molex, are either male or female. A female connector like this one is a socket and a male pin or plug connector fits into it.

Why are crimp terminals important?

Crimp terminals create circuits, so are essential for establishing the flow of current in electronic applications.

Mega-Fit Terminal Contact

The Molex Mega-Fit Terminal contact provides six independent contact points in a split box design. The design of the Mega-Fit Terminal also allows "hot plugging" for up to 30 cycles at 48V/23A by virtue of its four sacrificial contact points which help protect the two main ones.

Terminal-to-wire retention is improved due to the extended crimping barrel of the Mega-Fit Terminal contact design.

Molex Mega-Fit 5.7 mm Pitch Series

The Mega-Fit Power Connector range from Molex is a high current density system having a tight pitch and row spacing with applications in virtually every industry at 23 A per circuit.
