RS PRO H07RN-F Harmonised Rubber Insulated Mains Cable
From RS PRO a high-quality heavy duty and hard wearing H07RN-F flexible harmonised mains power cable with rubber insulation and chloroprene or polychloroprene rubber jacket. This cable has a voltage rating of 450 to 750 V and is designed for use in demanding industrial environments
What is Mains Cable?
A mains power cable connects an appliance to a mains electricity supply through the use of a wall socket or an extension lead which will then be plugged into a mains supply
Cable Construction
This flexible mains cable consists of cores made up of bare stranded copper conductors or wires. Each individual core is surrounded by colour coded rubber insulation for easy identification of the wires. All the cores are then surrounded by a final layer of chloroprene rubber called a sheath or jacket.
What Does H07RN-F Mean?
H07RN-F cable is a type of harmonised cable which means it belongs to the Harmonised Reference System and conforms to the European Harmonisation Standard. This purpose of this standard is to improve standards and quality of cables across Europe to ensure the trade of common standard product.
H07RN-F is the code for this harmonised cable which breaks down into the following:
H = Harmonised
07 = 450 / 750 voltage rating
R = Natural or synthetic rubber insulation
N = Chloroprene or polychloroprene rubber sheath
F = Flexible copper conductors

Benefits of Rubber Insulated Mains Cable
This flexible mains cable is made from materials with unique qualities that make it suitable for use in demanding environments.
The cable jacket has the following benefits
Durable and long lasting
High resistance to abrasion
Good weathering stability
Good tensile strength
Flame resistant and and self extinguishing
Resistance to oils and other chemicals

RS PRO 2 Core 1 mm² Mains Power Cable, Black CPE Sheath 50 m, 450/750 V ac, H07RN
Able to withstand weather, thermal and mechanical stresses, this mains power cable is designed to help you power equipment in all kinds of challenging locations.
As it's sheathed in a flexible, water-resistant rubber compound, it makes an ideal choice for wet areas including ports, dams and water treatment facilities. The cable's ability to withstand oil and grease also means it's an effective option for use in industrial environments. Other common applications include mobile power supplies and worksites as well as stage and audio-visual equipment.
The cable is compliant with a range of European standards. These include VDE0282, meaning it's certified as a safe and effective low-voltage energy cable, as well as RoHS, so it contains minimal levels of harmful substances. Its two stranded cores have a cross-sectional area of 1 mm² with an outer diameter of 8.3 mm. It's available in a length of 50 metres.
