RS Pro Plug-in 24V AC-DC adapter with Interchangeable AC Plug Heads

From RS Pro a high quality and versatile plug-in AC-DC adapter for converting AC mains current into DC voltage for a wide range of DC applications. The AC adapter is supplied with interchangeable AC mains plugs for use in UK, Europe, USA and Australia making it suitable for use in worldwide applications.

What is a Plug-in AC-DC Adapter?

Plug in AC-DC adapters are also known as AC Adapters or AC-DC converters and are a type of external power supply. Some electrical appliances require power but lack the internal components to derive the required voltage and power from mains power. This is where an AC adapter is used to convert the AC (alternating current) to a usable DC current

How Does an AC-DC Adapter Work?

The adapter consists of a power supply which is enclosed in a case similar to an AC plug. One end of the power supply has a DC power cable connected to it which is terminated with a DC connector. This DC connector is plugged into the device which is being supplied. The appropriate AC plug top is snapped into place on the power supply. The power supply is plugged into the mains socket and the AC current is then converted by the power adapter into a DC voltage that is fed into the appliance via the cable connection

What Does Efficiency Level VI Mean?

This AC DC adapter has an Efficiency Level VI rating. The numerals I to VI are an International Efficiency Marking Protocol which allows manufacturers to designate the efficiency performance of a product. This performance is based on the measurement of the operating energy efficiency and no-load power consumption of power supplies tested at different load levels. The no-load power consumption refers to the amount of power that an external power supply draws even when the application is turned off or disconnected.

Features and Benefits

• Universal input voltage of 90 Vac to 264 Vac
• 24 V dc output voltage
• 50 W power rating
• Level VI efficiency compliance
• Low no-load power consumption of ≤ 0.21 W
• Interchangeable AC mains plugs for use in UK, Europe, USA and Australia
• 1.5 m cable length

• Over current and short circuit protection

Where are AC DC Adapters Used?

These power adapters are used to power small or portable electronic devices. This ac adaptor is ideal for use with the following applications:

• Peripheral equipment
• Networking equipment
• Portable equipment
• Tablets and Laptops
• Smartphones
• Instrumentation
• Telecommunications equipment
