3M IDC Connector, 26 Way, 2 Rows - 4600 Series - 4626-6001

Need an IDC (insulation-displacement contact) connector that's easy to access yet protected from physical or chemical damage? This cable mount IDC connector from 3M has a shrouded design that guards the pins, while open ends enable easy daisy-chaining and bussing. It's ideal for use with either flat ribbon cables or separate stranded or solid wires sized between 28 and 26AWG. This device has a right-angled body orientation to help save space when building your system.

• 2.54mm pitch for industry-standard 1.27mm-pitch ribbon cable

• Operating temperature range of -55ºC to +105ºC makes it suitable for harsh environments

• Gold-plated copper contacts offer excellent conductivity to accurately transmit the signal

• Glass-filled polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) insulator combines strength with excellent dielectric properties

Applications

• Telecommunications systems

• Commercail computer networks

• Solid state drives

Why should I choose an IDC connector?

An IDC connector will save on installation time when compared with traditional crimping methods, as there's no need to strip the wires before making the connection. The connector is fitted with a blade or blades that pierce the insulator to make an immediate and secure electrical connection with the conductor.
